A vibrant community located in the heart of Texas, McGregor was founded in 1882 at the junction of the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe and the St. Louis Southwestern (Cotton Belt) Railroads. Major industry includes Smead Manufacturing, Dell Computer, and Ferguson Enterprises. The nearest big city is Waco, 15 miles east and home of Baylor University. Just north of McGregor is Crawford, home of President George W. Bush.

Note: This is an unstaffed station. Waiting area opened by local caretaker 1 hr before train arrival, closed 30 min after departure. Station facility is heated and air-conditioned; restrooms available.

All approaches to station on both U.S. 84 and TX 317 are marked with green-and-white directional signage.
From Waco Take Hwy. 84 to the intersection of U.S. 84 and Texas Hwy. 317. Turn left and go approx. 3 blk to Cotton Belt railroad tracks. Amtrak Blvd. is just past the McGregor Law Enforcement Center on the left. Turn left prior to crossing tracks. Station is 1/4 mi from Hwy. 317.
