Amtrak's Texas Eagle | Thruway Connections

Just as smaller aircraft extend the reach of jet airlines, Amtrak's Thruway Motorcoach service extends the reach of Amtrak trains such as the Texas Eagle.

Thruway Service is the easy, convenient way to reach many cities where Amtrak trains do not stop. Thruway connections provide coordinated train/motorcoach service, guaranteed connections at the Amtrak station (in most cases), as well as through fares (on most services) and ticketing.

Passengers traveling on Thruway connecting services must be ticketed before boarding the coach in order to obtan through fares. Tickets may be puchased at Amtrak stations, travel agencies or via ticket-by-mail. Except where identified as "Amtrak Thruway," Amtrak acts as selling agent only for connecting carriers and disclaims liability for travel performed over other carrier lines. Such other carriers may provide vehicles which are not accessible to passengers who use wheelchairs; consult Amtrak for details.
