Amtrak's Arkadelphia station is located in the former Missouri Pacific station, a one-story red brick structure on the southeast edge of downtown. This newly restored station is the headquarters for South Central Arkansas Transit; the former express offices will soon house a museum. Although the station is unstaffed, an outside open-air shelter is available for passengers.

Arkadelphia is the gateway station for Texas Eagle passengers destined for Hot Springs, the Ouachita Mountain region, Diamond Lake country, and Crater of Diamonds State Park.

Once an important steamboat landing, now the home of Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University. Four miles west of here are the archaeologically significant Caddo Indian mounds, and further west is the Crater of Diamonds State Park, the world's only diamond bearing site that is open for public prospecting. Arkadelphia recently completed a decade-long restoration of its historic train station.
