NATIONAL TRAIN DAYAmtrak is celebrating the first annual National Train Day with events culminating on Saturday, May 10. Amtrak will host events on May 10th at Chicago and Los Angeles, and local ceremonies are planned along the Texas Eagle route at Marshall, Dallas and Fort Worth. The May 10 date holds special meaning in railroad history, being the anniversary of the completion of the first transcontinental railroad at Promontory Summit, Utah in 1869.
