Some general tips for enjoying your trip |
|
Amtrak's Texas Eagle is equipped with bi-level Superliner cars and staffed with a crew dedicated to your comfort. Stretch out in a coach seat or snuggle into a sleeping compartment, enjoy a meal in the Dining Car, head over to the lounge for scenery by day or movies by night. Or just get up and walk around whenever you like.
Each ticketed passenger can carry on up to 2 pieces of reasonable size and weight (no more than 50 pounds). If you are traveling between 2 stations where checked baggage is handled, you may check up to 3 pieces per guest--again, of reasonable size and weight. Check the station list in the table at right. If your originating point and destination are both listed, then you can check baggage for your trip. In fact, when checked baggage is available, you are strongly encouraged to carry only what you need en route and check the rest. For more information on Amtrak's baggage policy, click here P.S. If you have a large number of pieces to ship, and if checked baggage service is available for your trip, consider Amtrak's small package express service. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the train, including sleeping cars, coaches, lounges and dining cars. Amtrak's smoking policies are subject to change. For the latest information, consult your Amtrak ticket or travel agent, or call Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL. |
