>Can you send me prices for my trip?
What we can offer is almost as easy. Use the "Fare Finder" box on this page.
You can also
call Amtrak 24 hours a day at 1-800-872-7245,
visit the nearest staffed Amtrak station,
or consult any travel agent that can issue airline tickets.
>How much baggage can I take?
Each ticketed passenger can carry on up to 2 pieces of reasonable
size and weight (<50 pounds). If checked baggage service is available
at your originating point AND destination, each ticketed passenger
can check up to 2 pieces, again of reasonable size and weight. View
this page for more information.
>Is smoking allowed on board?
Smoking is prohibited entirely on the train.
Passengers may smoke on station platforms as announced
by train crews and must remain next to the train,
ready to reboard immediately upon hearing the sound of the
locomotive horn and verbal "All Aboard" calls.
>Are there electrical outlets on board?
Yes, every sleeping compartment has a standard 110V outlet, as does every bathroom.
There are several outlets in the lounge car and in coach along a wall near the floor.
They're suitable for most electrical devices from a laptop to
a small hair dryer.
>Can I bring a pet?

Children under 8 may not ride unaccompanied at any time
under any circumstances. Once they turn 12, however,
they are full-fare passengers and can travel anywhere without restriction.
>I use a wheelchair. Can I ride the Texas Eagle?
The Texas Eagle's Superliner cars have wheelchair spaces on the lower level
of select coaches, and every sleeping car
has a wheelchair-accessible Special Bedroom available for reservation. For more information
on Amtrak's commitment to making travel accessible, please call the Amtrak

A wheelchair-accessible bathroom is part of the Special Bedroom
in every Amtrak sleeper.
>What are the radio frequencies used by the Texas Eagle?
Here is an unofficial source for radio frequencies used by Amtrak over the Texas Eagle route:

>Why doesn't the Texas Eagle stop in downtown Phoenix?
Until 1996 it did. In that year, Amtrak's host railroad in Arizona downgraded a stretch of track
between Phoenix and Yuma (specifically Palo Verde and Wellton), AZ. Since
Amtrak doesn't own the track, its only option was to reroute the
Texas Eagle and Sunset Limited to a main line south of Phoenix, where Amtrak established
Maricopa as the closest stop.
